Two down, last one to go(Insyaallah)...

ORANGE RUN SKATE 2009

Skate The Orange Run 2009 ni memang mencabar sungguh. Marts sendiri tak pasti mana lagi penat, berlari atau pun skate.

Sebelum jam 7 pagi Marts dah sampai di McD sebelah IKEA. Masa ni dah ramai peserta larian yang sampai, parking pun susah. Marts rasa Marts dengan Abg Annuar skater yang paling awal sampai. Kitaorang breakfast di McD dahulu sebab masing-masing belum makan apa-apa. Marts makan sikit sahaja sebab Marts takut nanti perut memulas pulak masa skate. Mana nak cari tandas kan!

Jam 7 lebih Marts nampak Ingrid dengan anak dia dah sampai. Ingrid ni duduk Malaysia sampai bulan 6 sahaja. Lepas tu family dia akan pindah ke Mexico kalau tak salah Marts. Makin kurus dia, banyak skate agaknya.

Tak lama kemudian baru la Marts nampak sekumpulan skaters yang Marts tak kenal tapi pernah nampak. Skaters Melayu semuanya. Bila acara larian dah mula baru la skaters dari MMU pula sampai. Marts tak pasti berapa ramai skaters yang join sebab semuanya datang pada masa yang berlainan dan ada yang start skate serentak dengan peserta larian. Tapi Marts rasa ada la dalam 20 ++ skaters macam tu. Marts dengan kawan-kawan lepas semua peserta larian berlepas baru kitaorang mula skate. Lagipun, kitaorang boleh take over diaorang dengan agak mudah.

Jarak cuma lebih kurang 12 km sahaja tapi yang pasti banyak sangat bukit yang Marts terpaksa daki guna skate. Banyak juga bukit yang agak curam. Penat gila panjat bukit, turun bukit. Lagipun bukan senang nak panjat bukit bila kaki ada roda. Kena maintain stride sepanjang masa, kalau tidak mau turun semula ke kaki bukit. Masa turun bukit agak senang, tapi bila banyak laluan curam, lenguh kaki Marts sebab dok burning brake rubber sepanjang masa. Skaters yang tak guna heel brake macam Marts tapi guna wheel brake lagi la susah sebab diaorang terpaksa maintain T-brake sepanjang masa.

Ada seorang skater lagi best, 2 kali roda skate dia tertanggal masa perjalanan. Nasib baik dia dah bawak pengunci untuk roda skate dia. lain kali Marts kena ingatkan diri untuk bawak pengunci roda sebab Marts selalu tinggal bila skate. Mana tau kot-kot roda tertanggal. Tapi sekarang Marts dah biasa untuk check semua roda ketat dan semua skru dipasang betul sebelum Marts skate di mana-mana.

Marts rasa dalam 9.30 am macam tu baru Marts sampai ke garisan penamat. Dah rasa penat sangat masa ni tapi sebab banyak jurugambar di garisan penamat yang ambil gambar, Marts pun terpaksa la buat-buat tak penat sambil race laju-laju dengan kawan-kawan sebelum sampai garisan. Mana tau masuk paper. Wa ka ka ka...

Marts dengan kawan-kawan berkumpul di kedai mamak sebelah IKEA untuk minum-minum sambil resting sebelum balik rumah.

Penat tapi Marts tak akan serik. Tahun depan akan masuk lagi. Best!

Nampak tak mamat yang pakai towel putih pada siku dia? Dia terjatuh dan luka agak teruk. Sebab tu la Marts selalu pastikan safety gears digunakan. Bahaya walaupun cedera sikit.

Kali ni skaters wanita cuma ada 2 orang, Ingrid dengan awek baju merah tu. She's a pro skater. Very skillful. Marts rasa dia skater MMU.

GET HAPPY I

1. Take a 10-30 minute walk every day. And while you walk, smile. It is the ultimate antidepressant.

14. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip, OR issues of the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.

15. Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.

16. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a college kid with a maxed out charge card.

17. Smile and laugh more. It will keep the nagative blues away.

18. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.

19. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.

20. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.


GET HAPPY II
