Two down, last one to go(Insyaallah)...

FIG & OLIVE

The picture in the menu looked very tempting.  Juicy steak, golden colored rice and vibrant garden salad. Plus I think it has a note stating that this is an award winning dish/one of their their most prized dish. Something like that. So I ordered after much hesitation of what to order. They have plenty of choices from chicken to fish  and pastas for main course.

Black Pepper Steak with Olive Rice. First, don't be fooled by the picture in the menu. Second, don't be fooled by the picture in this blog.

Clearly, the picture and whatever is said about the steak is overrated. The steak was quite dry, hard and rubbery on certain parts. Even the black pepper sauce was below expectation. The olive rice tasted very much like our regular briyani rice except that that regular briyani rice tastes better and more palatable. The salad was nothing more than a few pieces of green leaves and raw onions tossed together-hardly appetizing. Nandos and Kenny Rogers serve better garden salad. Even the steak that I had at a simple house-turned-steak-establishment in Kota Damansara was far more superior in taste than this, not to mention the super cheap price(RM10 only).

For a posh looking restaurant at a posh location(Sunway Pyramid Marrakesh) with a price that's  double of what Nandos and Kenny Rogers can offer, this is quite a disappointment.

However, I only had this, so I am not sure about other menu. Perhaps it was just my  unlucky day. I should have ordered fish or chicken instead, or maybe one of their pastas menu. For about RM30 a meal plus drink, you'd expect something better than this.
